Overview

The UNVI SIL INTERCITY is versatile and highly functional. Its excellent ability to quickly transport larger numbers of passengers over medium or commuting distances (Rapid Transit Bus or Interurban Commuter systems) is impressive due to the flow rate of passengers that get on and off these vehicles speedily. Designed specifically to achieve the capacity performance of train or tube, but with the simplicity and flexibility that characterises road transport. UNVI brings intercity transport to maximum efficiency with this model.

The UNVI SIL INTERCITY takes up the same amount of space as a conventional bus, but also offers up to 97 seats and is more cost-effective, safe, lightweight, and environmentally friendly. Available as either 13, 14 and up to 15 metre lengths, with two or three axles and ranging from 3.99 to 4.2 metres in height, UNVI SIL INTERCITY double decker’s are designed with an entrance that has no inside step, both for its low entry, and full flat floor versions. Various technological improvements can also be applied to this model. One is to build the bodywork with an integral aluminium structure that makes it lighter and minimises maintenance costs. This also results in reduced fuel consumption and emission of pollutant gases.

Variety

One of the SIL hallmarks. UNVI offers this model in different sizes, height, length, or width all with various seating capacity. This variety also extends to the different mechanical solutions available as we manufacture in conjunction with most major chassis suppliers. Furthermore, the UNVI SIL INTERCITY is approved for both Class II, for commuter traffic, with more passengers seated than standing, and Class III.

Passenger Capacity

An indisputable advantage of this model is its ability to carry the largest number of travellers, depending on the weight of the bus, the type of route to be undertaken and architectural barriers that can be found in the cities or areas through which it travels. UNVI SIL INTERCITY provide a service to more people while occupying the same space as a normal or articulated bus, particularly important during peak traffic hours.

Passenger Saloon

The passenger area stands out for its spaciousness and functionality. The UNVI SIL INTERCITY models are designed with access aisles to more spacious seats and have stairs that allow for smooth and, fast flow of travellers between the upper and the lower decks. We have also thought about making the trip not only comfortable, but more visually pleasing. That’s why these buses have a larger glass area on the top, which enhances the appeal of sitting on the upper deck to enjoy a panoramic view, as well as providing more light to its interior. The passenger area is finished off with a modern air conditioning system on both decks, with different levels and types of seats according to the degree of comfort required by the transport service provided. Information equipment for travellers can also be provided upon customer request.

Driver Area

Driving an UNVI SIL INTERCITY  bus comfortably and safely is another of our objectives. This double decker incorporates an area for the driver that is separate from the passenger compartment and located opposite the front access door, as well as a comfortable seat and glove compartments to store documents or small objects. Safety in handling the bus is guaranteed with a self-explanatory instrument panel that is intuitive and easy to use, where different functions can be controlled without taking your eyes off the road, and with exterior rearview mirrors for improved visibility.
